TOEFL

TOEFL stands for the Test of English as a Foreign Language.  The purpose of the TOEFL test is to evaluate the English proficiency of people whose native language is not English.  In most cases, universities both at the undergraduate and graduate level require the TOEFL for admission purposes.

The test is offered in the new Internet Based format (iBT) in Cyprus.  The old Paper Based test is no longer be offered in Cyprus. 

Students can read about the differences between the former Paper-based test and the new Internet-based test on the ETS-TOEFL website.  The new ETS Online Resource Center includes free material, an iBT online tour which includes test sample questions and other useful information about the new iBT test.
