RANKINGS There are no official university rankings in the United States. Rankings are provided by private publishers. If students choose to use rankings, they should read the methodology carefully beforehand to make sure they understand the factors used by each publisher to determine which schools were considered to be the "best". They should also compare several lists. Accreditation status should be considered the most important criteria in selecting a university.
