SCHOLARSHIPS & FINANCIAL AID

When students and their parents think about studying in the US, they are often concerned about the costs.  What many people are not aware of however, is that the cost higher education in the US varies tremendously among institutions.  Students can find 4 year colleges that cost a total of $20,000 per year (all expenses included) and they can find institutions that cost as much as $55,000 per year.

Students should determine how much they are able to spend, and then search for institutions that offer programs within their budget,  but they can also look into schools that offer scholarships and financial aid to offset the cost.  Below we have split up the scholarship opportunities into two categories: Scholarships for Cypriots offered through the Cyprus Fulbright Commission, and Scholarships & Financial Aid for International Students.

Students concerned about costs should also look into the option of attending a junior college for the first two years and then transferring to a university with an articulation agreement with their junior college to complete their Bachelor's degree, since the cost of attending a junior college is significantly lower.  For more information about this topic see our Community Colleges section.
