The Cyprus Fulbright Commission offers opportunities for American citizens to conduct research, lecture, provide consultation visits, and attend conferences as keynote speakers in Cyprus.  Read more below.
 


Fulbright Inter-country Lecturers Program
Program Description: American Fulbright Scholars on assignment to Fulbright Commissions in nearby countries may be invited for public lectures and consultation visits depending on the needs of governmental departments and local institutions.

Fulbright Specialists Program
Program Description: The Fulbright Specialists Program is designed to provide short-term academic opportunities (two to six weeks) for U.S. faculty and professionals.  Non-U.S. post-secondary academic institutions submit Senior Specialist project requests through the Fulbright Commission.  For more information about the program visit the Senior Specialists section on the CIES website.

U.S. Fulbright Scholars to Cyprus Program
The Cyprus Fulbright Commission invites US Scholars to Cyprus under the US Fulbright Scholar Program. 
The Commission annually provides up to five awards. Fulbright scholars lecture, conduct seminars and workshops, consult, or conduct research in affiliation with institutions of higher education, governmental agencies, and research institutes in both the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot communities. Applicants should be aware of the political situation that exists on the island.

Field: Any field

Length: From 4 to 9 months. Subject to availability of funds, and in line with the grant priorities set by the Board, the number/period of stay of open field grants may be reduced accordingly.

Category: Lecturing or Research.

Grant Activity: Lecture or conduct research in any field.

Specialization: Specific areas of interest include, but are not limited to the following: Drug Abuse and Prevention, Archaeology, History, Geology, Domestic Violence, Nursing, Conflict Resolution/Conflict Management and American Studies.

Affiliation: Applicants are encouraged to arrange affiliation and include letter of invitation.

Start Date: September or January.

U.S. Fulbright Students to Cyprus Program
The Commission, in cooperation with the Institute of International Education (IIE),  normally provides 2, but this number may increase, Fulbright full grants. Applications will be considered from well-qualified students in all fields subject to availability of funds.

Length: up to 9 months.

Specialization: Applications will be considered from well-qualified candidates in all fields. Conflict resolution, NGO development, environmental studies, archaeology and intercultural communication are areas of particular importance.

Additional Qualifications: Applicants conducting research for a Ph.D. are preferred.

Dates: September to May preferred.
