DISTANCE EDUCATION

Distance education is becoming more and more popular in the United States. This is an increasingly common way for students to take classes or obtain degrees.  Numerous institutions offer distance education programs via the internet, satellite television, video conferencing, and other means of electronic delivery. 

Generally, U.S. university programs accredited by regional and professional accrediting bodies are also accredited for distance learning. However, prospective students are also strongly encouraged to check with the Ministry of Education in Cyprus regarding the status/accreditation of distance education degrees.

The Education USA  website offers a free distance education search program.  The Fulbright Commission library also has publications that address this issue and offers information about distance education programs at all degree levels.
