STUDY OF THE
U.S. INSTITUTES FOR SECONDARY EDUCATORS The Branch for the Study of the United States of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State invites candidate nominations once per year for the Summer Study of the United States Institutes for Secondary Educators. The institutes take place over the course of 6 weeks usually beginning in mid-June. The Institutes provide two multinational groups of 30 secondary educators each (English teachers, teacher trainers, curriculum developers, textbook writers, ministry of education officials etc) with a more comprehensive understanding of U.S. politics, culture, and society. Through a variety of traditional, multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary approaches, the programs will elucidate the history and evolution of U.S. institutions and values, broadly defined, and have a strong contemporary component. The institutes serve to illuminate the contemporary political, social and economic debates in American society. The ultimate goad is to promote the development and improvement of courses and teaching about the U.S. at academic institutions abroad. Applicants must be
nominated by the Ministry of Education. For more information check the Department of State Website or contact the Cyprus Fulbright Commission. Program Schedule
